Welcome To My Practice
I believe that people want to function optimally in their lives - both through work and play. We want satisfying relationships, we want to feel productive - if not essential - in our work lives, we want to be healthy, and we want to feel engaged in something that brings us pleasure outside of our work and relationships.
If you are looking for a psychotherapist, you may be feeling dissatisfied with some aspect of your life, or want to address a current dilemma. Sometimes people seek therapy to explore patterns of behavior or family dynamics that are hard to untangle alone. Whether this is your first time seeking help or you have been in treatment before, it is courageous to take the first step in finding someone to help you. It takes effort and perseverance to find someone with whom you feel comfortable and upon whom you can rely. The process of getting into a good therapy is sometimes daunting, but it is worth it! Especially when you find the right therapist.
If you work with me, you will find that my approach is holistic: You are not just a set of symptoms, but a complex individual. I am an active therapist and work hard to help you understand yourself better and address your concerns. I believe in treating the whole person, and in doing so, addressing the presenting issue.
As a generalist, I have experience with a wide range of patients and have worked with a wide variety of mental health challenges. These include: anxiety, depression, eating disorders, behavioral problems such as addictions, obsessive-compulsive disorder, relationship difficulties, learning disabilities, autism-spectrum disorders in young adults, social anxiety and awkwardness unrelated to ASD, obesity and overeating, sexual dysfunction and personality disorders.
In addition to individual and couples therapy, I offer group psychotherapy, and clinical supervision to psychotherapists.
I am licensed in Washington DC and I have office hours by appointment only, Monday - Friday. For further information, contact me by clicking the button above.
